Granola

Pretty sure I ate a bowl of granola for breakfast...oh, and dinner too. Pathetic. Cereal for 2 of 3 meals is a new low for me. Even though I thoroughly enjoyed my Trader Joe's low fat granola (no raisins) I am too prideful to let this happen again. I mean I am an educated, responsible adult, not a poor college student anymore.

After supper, I was full but not completely satisfied. So, I dug around on the internet a bit and found a magical website:

thepioneerwoman.com

This lady truly rocks! The cooking section of the website is my new inspiration! Her photography is absolutely beautiful and I love the step by step picture directions, which is very useful for those of us who easily mess up recipes. I think I am going to pull a "Julie & Julia" on her and start making one thing a day (or one recipe a week, as not to get burnt out).

The coolest thing about Ree Drummond is she seems to cook real food for real people. She simplifies recipes and uses accessible ingredients. She seems like an authentic person and comfortable where she is in life. I could tell this by one of her family photographs posted on her site. It's a black and white, artistic photo with her and her four children. The caption photo shopped in the corner of the picture says "I love my Punks." It made me chuckle. You should check it out and the rest of her site too.
